THE ARLINGTON - EAST FALLS CHURCH CIVIC ASSOCIATION

Benjamin Banneker Park Parasitoid Wasp Release

A NOTICE FROM ARLINGTON COUNTY PARKS

Dear Arlington East Falls Church Residents:

The forestry and natural resources section of Parks and Recreation is releasing a USDA-approved biological control, to fight the spread of Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). EAB is killing our native ash trees, and you may have seen dead ash trees in your local parks. Fairfax County has been releasing biocontrol insects like this for the past 2 years, and we are now included in the program, as well. We will be releasing the first batch of these in Benjamin Banneker Park tomorrow (May 17, 2023).   You can learn more at the following link:

We are happy to take questions.
